Blackthorn is a operator-run firm with no franchise behind it and no corporate parent. The experience behind it goes back more than twenty years — we do contract security work and work with clients who need security expertise.
The name comes from Irish tradition. The blackthorn tree is tough, resilient, and unassuming. Sciath means shield in Gaelic. It describes what we do and how we do it.
